I don't think this is good by any stretch of the imagination. I really wish Nintendo would take themselves a little more seriously. Mother and Zelda have always been their more story driven titles that were liked by more mature audiences rather then younger ones. The Mother series is my favorite RPG franchise due to it's wealth of pop culture references, parodies of video games and subtle hints at psychological elements such as the hinted pedophile at the beginning of the game, the cultists, Porky's down-right evil parents, the end of the game itself etc etc. It's so un-Nintendo and that's why I love it. But it seems like Nintendo doesn't want Mother to happen sometimes. Jesus Christ, PIKMIN almost has as many games as the Mother series' and mother came out on the NES.

The Legend of Zelda's potential always seemed stifled of which there is SO much of. Zelda's characters are so brilliantly placed. The series is overflowing with symbolism, such as the abundance of femininity surrounding Link (Zelda, Saria, Ruto, Malon, The Great Faeries, Navi in Ocarina of Time alone and they directed the player to feel close with each one of them... except for Navi, even Epona is female) or Link's returning to his childhood at the end of Ocarina of Time or many many more examples (I don't have the energy to think about). It's fan's are so loving and loyal, so much so that they pieced together videos detailing the timeline of the Zelda series' including the theory that Ocarina of Time split the timeline into two parallel universes which would be a brilliant, very tasteful plot device and Nintendo just tells us, "LOL IUNNO"

Seriously Nintendo. What the fuck are you today? Most developers try to implement actual stories that immerse the player in there world and you just seem to want to push us away from it. I'm irritated? Fuck yea I'm irritated. You seem like a combination of EA and a poor-man's Team Ico these days and you're failing both ways except in your pocketbook and guess who gives two shits about your money? Not your fan's.

edit: lol it's probably not all that conclusive but still, I'm sick of them treating their fans like they can't understand a well thought out plot
