Happy 20th B-day, Sega Genesis! Yup, can you believe it? On August 14th, 1989, Sega released the Genesis here in the US (next year for Europe/Mega Drive). So to celebrate, let's talk about the Genesis & our experience w/ the system.
I remember my friends having one & they had Gunstar Heroes, which was SOOOOOO fun. Took me years before I learned what the name of the game was called & being able to buy it via Virtual Console. I have a Genesis that I bought a few years ago at a garage sale for only $5 (1st model) that came w/ a 2nd controller, Sonic The Hedgehog, & Paperboy. Sadly, since I have to hook it up via REALLY old TV (it's not A/V like usual & not cable. I can't think of the name....), I can't play it. I also have Sonic & Knuckles that I've had for YEARS since my babysitter had a Genesis, so when I was over, I'd play it there or my friends' house. I remember being so amazed at being able to put the other Sonic games on top & being able to pay as Knuckles in those games (this was back before the N64 was released). |
