That hardware was famous for having CD-ROM errors. Definitely won't be an issue if you upgrade post-haste, but if that isn't an option you'll probably have to search around for a VERY similar drive. I remember that the machine only likes very specific drives, but it's not proprietary or anything, so if you can find a similar one on eBay or a local store, go for it. Modern ones /don't/ work as far as I know, though. Gotta use something the same age as the original tech. |
