Really depends.. if you're a casual or mid-level player, they're great controllers that do a good job of bringing home the arcade feeling. You get excellent quality for the price tag. If you plan on doing 80-90's with fast hyperpicking, however, best to just stick with the plain ol' tiny hand-cramping home controller. The pick on the ASC's just can't keep up with high speeds without some modification. This is just in my experience, of course; I have no idea how well other people's ASC's work.
It's just a shame that DJ Dao never made an ASC for Guitar Freaks.. maybe for XG CS?
