TBH with the artificially inflated price of backward compatible PS3s, you're probably best off hitting the best buy with 400 dollars plus your local sales tax and picking up both a PS3 slim and a PS2 slim if you want to play games on both consoles but own neither.
But you like the rest of the living people on earth probably own a PS2.
