And now for the results:
Here are the people that submitted charts (in order of difficulty): thewhantahndestroyer, LK4D4, Chmurek, anonymous, Istugo15, SHAMEMARU. Starting with Keyboard....
The requirement was to make something that was 12-footer. SHAMEIMARU has excellent structure but was too easy. The only one that came close was thewhantahndestroyer, but only because of the mines. However, even with the mines it still felt barely on-par with 12-footer status. Thus, sadly, no winners! Please practice more and use references next time. Next we have Pad....
My good friend at the arcade was kind enough to help me judge these charts. We played each chart at least twice, always going back to recalculate scores and reconsider decisions, not to mention have the same mindset as the person who created the chart.
Going in order was thewhantahndestroyer. His chart filled with mines had very nice rhythm. Though you had several DoubleStepping (DS) sections that prevented your chart from becoming fully enjoyable. It was still a great chart and impressed me with the rolls to be a candidate in the "Most Unique yet Enjoyable" prize.
I was an obvious challenge to get across, as I already knew the song. But I played fair and restricted myself from further hearing the song and stepping the chart until the last day. My friend who helped me test (without any knowledge of who made what... still doesn't know) favorited my chart from the very beginning. But then came the other charts....
Another "famous" player that got a hold was Chmurek, whom I know from Best-Mix: Excellent job with this. You have really nice use of mines which became another "MUyE" entry.
There was an anonymous player that would not like to be known; regardless this person does very fine work (so I've seen from another contest). You have produced the same quality work that I've seen before, so good job. My friend placed this in the "MUyE" entry for your spin placements.
Finally there was Itsugo15... mines were nicely placed, rhythm and tempo very good, but your DS was incredible. The chart actually felt like a 9-footer. Without the mines would give this potential, but again; unenjoyable. Your chart did initially get a spot in "MUyE" though after physically playing we both felt it was our least favorite.
As for the scores, I have scored the following (for pad, as only pad was the only thing worthy of being in the 1st contest): 88/--/90/91/74 My friend: 85/96/90/96/10 And Voting was: 0/2/2/1/0
Not even counting my score I made upon myself, the results are as follows: LAST PLACE: thewhantahndestroyer (KB entry) (you get yourself last place prize) Most Unique yet Enjoyable: thewhantahndestroyer (Pad entry) (for the use of rolls and slight mines) SECOND PLACE: Our Anonymous Entry
and finally... FIRST PLACE: LK4D4
I only hope next Contest we hold with the same caliber presents better results and more entries. Good luck next time. |
