I just found a Supernova machine and couldn't get to the double mode.
I know how to do it on the 3rd mix though. | You need to insert more coins and watch it. Right when you are at the screen for choosing your mode, don't hastly select the first option, which is single mode. Press right or left on the buttons (not the pads, just the selection buttons) and you should be able to do doubles.
