Timing (in IIDX) was really tough for me in the beginning. I didn't start getting high scores until I was clearing mid/hard 11s. The timing sort of came after I could read difficult patterns. Playing songs that are really easy for you helps with your timing I think. I know that if I spend a while trying to perfect combo songs on normal, my scores usually improve. Playing songs just below your pass/fail threshold on random improves your ability to read/combo difficult patterns. Random is a very useful tool, especially when you get to 11s/12s. |
