I wouldn't have suggested changing the tick in this one - that was a general statement. Sometimes you can leave stuff out early and build, and sometimes bridging gallops can be appropriate (I did that in Let's Go Dee Jay for the DGJ Invitational, which is probably not a stellar example).
As far as repetition in a file, yeah, the occasional symmetry can be nice, but 16 consecutive measures? At that BPM, that's like 25 seconds of stuff I've already done once. To me it screams lack of creativity (yes I know it's hard to be creative in four panels). If what you wanted to do was mirror the freezes you still could have changed the rest around it, even slightly. I will say that it stuck out like a sore thumb to me when judging - if it was such a good idea I probably wouldn't have noticed (because your file was quite fun otherwise).
As far as "helping my judging" I've been doing it for like three years now so I think my technique is fine (not so much early on, I'll admit), and my opinions on what is good aren't too likely to change any time soon. I suppose that was in response to my slightly heavily-worded post in the first place, so I won't take too much offense at that and apologize myself for the words (I stand by my judging though).
