The whole TM atmosphere was why I left the competitive simfiling scene for good after TM6. Good god people. It's all done in the name of fun, and if it isn't, it damn well should be.
Simfilers often feel like they're betting their e-penis on these tournaments and guess what? The rating you get from the judges and public is just that--how much the judges and public like your file. There can be many reasons someone doesn't like your file. Maybe it really is good. Stuff goes under the radar easily.
The seriousness with which people approach such a competition denies the whole purpose of DDR simfiling, which is, to say the least, unfortunate. I've started to see it as unavoidable, as something inherently wrong with simfile tournaments, but guys, I'd love to be proven wrong.
