Shut the fuck up. You don't know what this guy's personal needs or desires are for a computer. I've seen people run a Windows XP installation for 2 years with no problems on a 20GB HDD. And I've seen a friend fill up two 2TB partitions with music, videos, programs, and other stuff within 4 month. In personal experience, I got a 320GB HDD, formatted it, got 298GB out of it, I'm down to 102 GB free as of today. This was about 3 months ago when I got the drive. Everybody's needs are different. Saying that this guy doesn't need a terabyte of storage is like saying a mom with 6 kids doesn't need to be driving around in a minivan or SUV. Obviously he has stuff that he likes to keep on hard drives, despite their short life compared to optical media when properly kept, due to convenience of accessing it.
I am pretty sure that in Mac G5's they had actual video cards (DVI plug was sideways in an expansion slot), but I'm not sure about the Mac Pro's. I'm going to guess that they ARE cards, and not integrated onto the motherboard, since you know, the amount of space on the board that 2 video cards with memory would take up is enormous. And quite honestly, a retarded idea.
And by the way, if this guy wants to spend thousands more than he ought to on a computer, let him.
And I'm considering getting a MacBook Pro at the end of this year. I was hoping I'd be able to ask for help in this thread, but apparently it just turned into a swamp of fucking flame-fest-2006.
