Denjin K Disc 1 review

Posted 05-29-2008 at 07:05 AM by ☼Pepe☼
Just got my hands on Denjin K, so decided review Disc 1 :P

1. INTRO - This is fucking awesome! NO+CHIN does a good job in singing (Or whatever he's doing) and the background music is oh so L.E.D., especially considering his newfound GABBA style - 8/10

2. THE DEEP STRIKER (H.W.S.) - I don't really know if this is supposed to be a re-interpretation of THE DEEP STRIKER, because it doesn't sound like it. It's a pretty well done long version, not too repetitive, and has some new parts added. 9/10

3. PHOTONGENIC - This is, well literally, a long version of PHOTONGENIC. The drum'n'bass is much stronger than the original version, but, I don't really like PHOTONGENIC much so I found it boring :P 7/10

4. IXION - I feel that as I'm listening to this song, it's as if I'm listening to a part of IXION taht was really supposed to be there but wasn't in the original version. I especially liked the beginning and ending 9/10

5. THE DETONATOR - I creamed when I heard MC KENT introduce song!!! *o* "Warning, extremely explosive hardcore techno track; Be well prepared before listening". 10x better than the GOLD CS version, and, like MC KENT says, extremely explosive hardcore techno track. I feel like I want to sing along to this song in a live event D: 10/10

6. ERaSeR EnGinE DistorteD - The guitars are clearer, the stynths are clearer, the voices are clearer. Shit, this is a very high quality version of ERaSeR EnGinE compared to the original, and it's awesome! And I think NO+CHIN is doing the vocals Also, the BEEEEEPS! xD 9/10

7. DAWN -THE NEXT ENDEAVOUR- - Much better than the original, if I might say. Has a few new parts, but it's a bit too long. And I never liked DAWN :[ 6/10

8. NEBULA GRASPER - The beginnning does a good job of giving buildup to the song. Although a tad repetitive, makes up for it with fun synth streams. 8/10

9. JEWELLERY STORM - Oh yeah... gabba version of Lovely Storm, with vocals I have no idea who the vocalist is, but she fits quite well with the song 8/10

10. THE EARTH LIGHT - Pure synth awesomeness. That is all. 8/10

11. SOLID STATE SQUAD - SSS, with an even more gabba feel. Added guitars (or were they in the original? I didn't notice) equals awesomeness. I love how this song always seems to make me suddenly turns me speechless in the middle, then suddenly brings all the hype back. And the new melody (which was the backup in the original) adds to the hype right before the blending of bass and synth. Definitely my favorite track in the album 10/10

12. ACID IMMORTAL - For some reason, while listening to this song, I could imagine the scenery; humans being chased by extraterrestrials in huge spaceships xD Which make the long version more story-like than the original. Great job. 9/10

13. THE SHARP STRIKER - Yes, sound of Giallarhorn The short vocal in the beginning help add to the ambience of the song. I love that the bassline is louder in this version, and how he added more to the melody, making it more stylized, if I might say. 9/10

14. STEEL NEEDLE - Sounds much darker and more sinister than the original, with a stronger bass, and less background synths. It's more drum'n'bass than the origina, if ever. I love how it starts to get crazy in the middle, like it's a bunch of different songs fighting over who gets to be next. Then it al falls down in one fell swoop to the second half of the song, which makes it all good ^_^ 10/10

15. THE LAST STRIKER - The perfect way to end the disc, with an epic-like drum'n'bass/trance track that leaves you feeling hanging in space, wanting more.... 9/10

On average: 8/10
Pretty awesome album, songs not too long, and lots of new stuff in practically every track.

Disc 2 to come later :3
