Image: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v330/unknown_gamer/ddrx2title.jpg

Fresh off the heels of their recent United States CS releases, Konami has announced a location test for the Arcade version of DanceDanceRevolution X2. The location test will take place at Round One in Akihabara, Tokyo, about five minutes from the Akihabara station on foot. The hours are 10AM to 1AM from November 25th to December 3rd.

And, by the way, when this test was announced, it was the 20th of November Japan time. Just a coincidence?

As always, you can expect bemanistyle to report all the news from the location tests as it comes.

U-san, the Arcade director, also made a post regarding the X2 location test on the DDR FROM STAFF BLOG, which we've translated into English for you here:

I know some of you know this, but DDR X US can output in progressive scan mode (480p) if you have component video cables (the red/blue/green one, not the red/yellow/white one).

I also know some of you know that you can have DDR X JP and DDR SuperNOVA2 JP output in progressive scan mode by holding triangle and x when the games start up.

If you didn't know yet, the games look fantastic in 480p. Especially because the games with progressive scan also have adjustments for both the timing and the arrow sync, so you can adjust for both audio and video lag on HDTVs.

Most importantly, what I didn't know until recently is that DDR SuperNOVA JP also outputs in 480p. Why was I not aware of this earlier?? The game looks better than it did on the arcade machine I used to play on! I really can't describe how clear and bright it looks compared to the non-480p games. If you have DDR and you're not playing on component cables, you need to get some. Right now.

Anyone ever buy one of these pads?

I have been thinking about getting a new pad lately. Bottom line is I want a metal pad that has an arcade feel. The bar does not have to be perfect or anything-much like my TX2000 I have lived with the bad bar.

I am not moving on because my Dance pad is broke I am just searching for my options right now on purchasing a new pad.

Along my searching I did find a pad that caught my eye. the Energy Dance pad...
(In Stock Now!) Dance Dance Revolution DDR Energy Arcade Metal Dance Pad with Recessed Buttons and Handle Bar for PS/ PS2 - Xbox - PC/Mac (http://ddrgame.com/dance-dance-revolution-energy-arcade.html)
I was wondering if anyone has bought one?

I am interested in this pad because the arrows are recessed like arcade dance pads. I am also curious about the censors that are in the pad. If they are similar to the TX series that fine with me because my pad works flawlessly after taking time to mod it.

I am also taking other suggestions. But the pad NEEDS to have a bar (So no Cobalt Flux people), and has to be under $400. I also considering waiting for DJ Dao to come out with their pads before making a final decision (which is hopefully soon).

Does anybody have any good links to the court files or records about this?

So my metal knockoff pad always worked perfectly up until recently. I started playing X2 and played a couple of songs and high AA FCed them even though I hadnt played in a while. Then I started to play Taking it to the Sky and all of a sudden, the down arrow just started not responding. It would hit 20% of the time. After a while, it got worse and pretty much the only way to get it to register is to jump with both feet near the center and even then its a 50/50 chance. Does anyone know how to fix this? I know its something wrong with the sensor but I have no idea what it is.

Heres a pic of the pad

And a pic of the bottom arrow sensor
Image: http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/1083/hni0011.jpg

And just for good measure, a pic of the right arrow sensor (which works fine)

Selling a Pad

So, I'm trying to sell my Afterburner pad. It's the most recent model, so it can connect to PC, GC, Wii, PS2 and Xbox

Here's the breakdown. I got the first one back in August for my birthday. It came with a 90 day warranty, which was very appropriate. After about 2 months of vigorous use, (about 5 times a week for 45-70 minutes) it stopped working. So, I claimed my warranty and got a new one sent. I stilled played occasionally, but by then the semester was really underway, so I didn't have time to play it and I had lost interest in it. That's when I got the bright idea to sell it. Rather than try to sell a partially used pad, I claimed the warranty again, so the pad I'm selling is brand spankin' new(undisturbed in the box it came in). If anyone's interested just send me a message and we can discuss pricing and all that. Shipping will be outrageous, but I'm willing to pay it to get rid of it.

By the way, I'm not really an active member of the forum, so excuse me if this is misplaced. I read the rules and stuff(at least think so) to make sure this post wasn't illegal or anything.
