Well now. I need some help from you guys.
I bought an EMS DUALSHOOTER USB2 converter to use with my STEPMANIA. Oh yeah. Just so you know, I have a MAC) But when I tried to put in the configuration, nothing worked. It wasn't registering. So then I download the Mac OS drivers, installed them and it still wasn't working. The switch is set to "PC" so I really don't know what else to do. XP

Looking for info on image and avi resolutions

Standard sizes:
Banner - 256x80
BG - 640x480
Avi - 320x240

Now, what I'm wandering is, can this be increased to look better in HD without the program suffering? I know the banner and BG can, but only to 512x160 and 800x600, respectivally.

So I guess my questions are:
- Can I size up Avi to be bigger?
- Can the banner/background get any larger as well?

Thanks in advance, I know this is a rather basic level question, just getting back into simfile making for a project and it's been a while.

Replacement brackets?

Hello, I'm completely modding my cobalt flux with arcade sensors, ddr panels, and the likes.
However, I'm not sure where I could get the metal brackets to hold the arrow in place (the ones in the 4 corners of the arrow)?
If not, any suggestions as to a good triangle bracket places that may sell something of the likes, like Lowes or Home depot?
(like these... but without the constraint of selling 32 at a time..!)
Corner Metals for DDR Floor Arrows - Dance / Music Machine Parts - Spare Parts - Arcade Video Game Coinop Sales - Coinopexpress (http://www.coinopexpress.com/products/parts/dance___music_machine_parts/Corner_Metals_for_DDR_Floor_Arrows_7819.html#)

Also, would any standard L-bracket work for this method or would I be able to just find any sort of L-bracket that looks similar that may work?
Thanks a ton... <3

Help! I can't edit stepmania.ini!

Well, first of all it was missing, but I found it in
users/(myname)/local/appdata/virtualstore/program files/stepmania/data (Vista, by the way... yeah... I know)

Well, I want to change stepmania so that instant-fail affects light and beginner difficulties.

the lines
"FailOffForFirstStageEasy=1
FailOffInBeginner=1"

are missing from the .ini.

I tried adding them myself and changing the values to 0, but the .ini file resets itself every time I start Stepmania!

Any idea how I can make this work?

Edit:

Oh, I just found a workaround. Not the perfect solution, it's better than nothing. I noticed that when you start a song on easy or beginner what it actually does is switch your fail type from immediate to end of song while on light/beginner if that is your default. So if I start the first song on light, go into the options first, and switch the fail type back, it'll stay that way for light/beginner for the rest of the game.

Still, it would be nice to not have to do that EVERY time I set the game up, but it'll work for now.

I've been working on a few different files lately, and got to wondering what other people step.

I do pretty much anything. For example...
1. I'm working on Don't Say Lazy (TV Size) by Yoko Hikasa right now, which is J-Rock. _YouTube - K-on ED full [Don't say lazy] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYnD-4RD7JQ)_
2. I recently submitted Dawn (Perpetual Mix) by KaW vs. i09 for Stepmania.com's Stepmix 5 competition. YouTube - Pump Pro - Dawn (Perpetual Mix) CZ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bUslnOx1jY)
3. I'm contemplating doing Balrog's Stage from Super Street Fighter 2. YouTube - Street Fighter II Music - Balrog (NA, Europe) / M. Bison (Japan) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vsaf0IH-yE)
4. I've done multiple songs by Savage Garden, an alternative band. (I think that's how they're classified.) YouTube - Savage Garden - The Best Thing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMYZN7UnIi4)

And so on.
