Dear members of Forum Boredom,
I know you are not generally used to seeing serious discussion in this forum, but in this case, I figured that it was only right. You see, I have been debating something for a friend for years and years, with no deffinative answer in sight. So, I figure the only logical thing to do is to bring the debate to where the experts are: Here in Forum Boredom.
Yes, shocking, I know, but trust me, I'm sure many of you are experts on this subject. It is fairly controvertial, yet few people are willing to speak of it publically. I am one of those few. Arguments both for and against are based on shaky ground, and many rely soley on either religion or morality without actually making an intelligent point.
By now, I'm sure, if you are still reading, you will want to know what the source of this argument is. Unfortunately before I reveal it, I will have to go into a little backstory.
My friend, the proffessor, was talking to me one day about what qualifies as art, and where the line blurs between fiction and reality. Also, specifically, how this is affected by international borders. For example, a while ago, a man in canada was arrested for importing japanese comics about children engaging in intercourse. However, here in the United States, the same thing counts as artistic expression. There is no common guideline throughout the world as to what counts as art and what is just disgusting.
It is because of this lack of a common standard that the intense debate rages on, and indeed grows. So I ask you, FB, do you
dare look behind the spoiler and give me an answer to the question which lies hidden inside?
Thank you for your time.
Good day,
Red
