Default I Think This Forum ESPECIALLY Needs a Few More Mods

No offense to -Miz-, but you can't expect him to be online 24/7, so nothing seems to have been put in the database for a while now. Most of the lyrics are being pushed off onto Page 2, where hardly anyone goes, so I suggest to have a few new mods here, just to get things done quicker.

I know that I might come off as cheeky but I think this place is lacking Mods, as places like DDR -Dancing Stage- Forums have far from few. This is the forum that is probably used the most (well for me anyway) and it's just a pain to make people do the work without getting any recognition from it.

Please at least consider my idea. You don't have to agree to it or anything, it's just a simple request.

Thanks,
Ben Speirs 7.0

The problem is, you need people who have a certain amount of skill in Japanese, or the lyrics database quickly gets filled with crap. (Also, you need people who are willing to make enemies by saying "No, I'm not going to put your ADVANCE lyrics in the database, go back and read the rules thread" -_^ )

I correct some stuff but I'm no where near good at Japanese (still learning and use the dictionary a lot :P) but I do try to enforce some rules around here like -Miz- said.

I think we need an accepted lyrics subforum so it makes it easier to see what hasn't been accepted yet. I'm going to add that now.

I never thought of the fact that people should be able to understand other languages. Maybe you could have like, language-specific mods, such as English only, Japanese only, or a mixture of the 2.

Yeah, I realise that if some mods don't really know what they're doing the database will be filled up with crap that nobody needs, so they have to have some experience in the Lyrics forum anyway, so you can't just hire some random guy, even if he know Japanese or not.

And making enemies is possibly the worst thing. I mean, I could do it, but I would feel quite bad afterwords. But I guess if it's against the rules, you have no choice so you can't feel too guilty

EDIT: You would also need people with a ot of tokens. If they don't have much, then people would get no reward.

Mods don't exactly need to have a lot of tokens to donate. They can moderate their own or another user's tokens, depending on their user permissions.

I don't fully understand what your saying....

Are you saying that if I was a Mod and wanted to give someone tokens, I could contact Djparanoia and ask if I could use his????!!

Other people take longer because they do more than copy and paste them from a LRC file and take out the time-directives >_>

For your information I do more than that aswell. I find the lyrics and open them up in Notepad. I play the song and change it very slightly to what it says if it's wrong. Then I divide each Verse up and copy the whole lot into this box right here.

thats not a bad idea. another thing to consider is that they have to have the music handy to listen to in order to check the lyrics

Well I see them as a bonus :P Sure, I do do this to get tokens, but I also do it because I like doing it. I dunno why, I just enjoy it

EDIT: And regarding your first sentence, I for one have a library of over 500 songs, but they are DDR only. Saying that I'm sure some people have 1000s of songs from DDR to Pop'N.

- I've been studying Japanese extremely intensely 2 years. I know about 300-500 kanji by heart and have tools like dictionaries and kanji dictionaries that I am experienced at using properly. Also, I have a good grasp of English, critical in providing good translations.
- I've translated Japanese lyrics before.
- Not only am I willing to make enemies, I'm certain I already have.
