DDR SuperNOVA - PS2 review
By Sakura_Guy

The sucessful franchise that is known as Dance Dance Revolution recently released the fifth installment in their series of games for the Playsatation 2. Dance Dance Revolution SuperNOVA is an impressive game in many aspects.

Visuals 4/5
The visuals for DDR SuperNOVA are the basic graphics you would expect from a DDR release. a main menu, a song select screen, and background videos that play while you are dancing to the song. However, they have been upgraded to a higher standard. Following, Extreme Two's, friendly atmosphere, the game makes it easy to choose songs and play the game without having to navigate through variuos menus. The song backgrounds vary from music videos, to DDR-esque dancing characters. It's not anything incredibly new, but nonetheless it is a very cool game to look at.

Music 5/5
The music in this game has at least one song that will please any type of DDr player. From popular songs like Dance, Dance by Fall Out Boy, to Video Killed The Radio Star by The Buggles, this games licences will please hardcore fans and new players. As always Konami includes their "originals" which, in this game, are just as good as the licences. The vocal pop song My Only Shining Star and classical sound of The Least 100 seconds, for example, are just as addicting as the licences.

Playability 3/5
Although this game has some new features such as Stellar Master Mode and Battle Mode, it still is the basic concept of stepping on arrows to a rhythm and the game could get boring to people who don't necessarily find that entertaining after two hours of playing. Overall, while the game will prove worthy to hardcore fans, for new players this game will take a few plays to start to be repetitive.

Overall 12/15
Dance Dance Revolution SuperNOVA is a worthwhile game that hardcore DDR players will enjoy, but new players might not get into as deeply.
