Default 5 Step Adventure Cancelled

Also the creators of Mungyodance are no longer going to create original dance games. I was totally looking forward to a Monakai created commercial product.

After the BS it continually got as a community in general, this really doesn't surprise me.

This is kind of silly in my opinion. I don't think too many people were harping on the actual quality of the game; they just have a problem with the imagery in it. So what do they do in response? Make the necessary adjustments with their next game to avoid that issue? No, they just give up altogether. Although if all three games had this problem, I could see why they were tired of the crap, but again it's not or shouldn't be that hard to change.

And these people wonder why everyone else reacts in such a negative manner towards pretty much anything they contribute. It's just incredibly effective.

It's as simple as going against something they want - that simple. To bend to public's will is not a necessity. Sure that may make you esoteric but that doesn't mean that what you make is crap when it sure as hell isn't.

I suffer from it too; I'd rather do my own thing and sim songs no one's ever heard of and whatnot than sim animé song after animé song. Not the same as graphic content in this but the idea is the same.

That's not even why it was cancelled. Everybody should get their facts straight before talking about it. I've even stated myself that it was cancelled because I did not want to go through the full game production phase again, and that it is too much work for me. I have a record company to manage, and I plan on making MGD expansion packs until I get bored of making stepfiles.

It is not because of the BS of the community, or whatever. It's just because I don't feel like I'm going to want to create a full new game after 5 years of total production on the MGD series.

A'ight, that's cool. I don't like to pass judgment on stuff before I know everything, but it just seemed to be the prevailing attitude.

That's a perfectly legitimate reason.

I'm really going to miss 5 Step Adventure. A non Pump It Up 5 panel game would have been really cool.

I actually liked MGD 2... just that sync issue was annoying to me... I head there was something to fix that in 3 but haven't DL'ed 3 yet so I don't know.

MGD1 and MGD2 can be properly synced, you just have to change the GlobalOffsetSeconds value in Mungyodance.ini like you would with any other SM 3.9 build. Kind of annoying, yes, but it worked.

MGD3 lets you change the global offset in the launcher application so it's a lot easier to get it properly synced (if you have to step early, increase the offset; if you have to step late, decrease the offset).

I've played all of the MGD games on pad and haven't had a problem with the sync after doing that.

Same here.

And it's really stupid that they had to close because of the "hate" in their community. One should never give up doing something they like because other people hate it.

But what's done is done. MGD and its creators will be missed.

Things to know when I request original simfiles:
1.) MOST IMPORTANT RULE - they MUST be paddable. I will sometimes ask for an ITG-Style Challenge/Edit level, but I will NEVER request Keyboard-only simfiles. So please, if you take my requests, make sure the end result is paddable.
2.) If it's an Anime OP or ED song, it MUST have the BG video as well as the TV size version of the song.

Basically that's it. I hope this helps when I request simfiles.

Actually, Renard said that he canceled the game because he doesn't want to do a full sized game anymore in the future. He even said it at this topic.

Thats a pity. :< I won't mind trying that non-PiU game too! (And I actualy getting into MGD3. <3 <3)

Oh well. Renny's decision. But I still like the game in heart. (Even though I just disscovered MGD (3) thanks to the BMS news. ^^; )
