Anyone heard of this fantastic looking game due soon? It looks like a combination of Stepmania, Tetris and Wipeout came together.
Basically you load a song up and it creates a 3D track that rides and intensify its self with your music and you fly through it. YouTube - Audiosurf preview Preview.
I think the idea is brilliant.

Public Beta here: RapidShare: 1-Click Webhosting
Not sure how long it'll be up for. Get it while it's up.
Add 72.167.39.116 Audiosurf: ride your music to your hosts file for a private server and dont update the game | From what I can see, here's a stab at the rules: You use the mouse to move left and right. To put a block in the grid, press the LMB. You have to match up 3 of the same colour (not necessarily in a line), and they will disappear. If a column fills, all of the blocks in that column have a warning logo on them. If another block joins the column, that column explodes, removing all the blocks from that one column and costing you points. The file's been removed, so I can't check to see whether I'm right or not...

So, to explain how it works: The traffic on the track is mapped to significant beats and instrument voices in whatever song you use, ideally with more valuable notes on the more pertinent beats. You control your ship with the mouse, and try to intercept the different colour traffic blocks in a meaningful pattern to score clusters. Hot colours are worth more than cold colours, and larger clusters are worth more points exponentially. The velocity of your ship is proportional to the slope of the track, with slower songs producing upward slopes with faster music creating a downward slope. Plus, the track twists and turns according to the movement of the music.
There are many modes, most of which give you a special ability that allows you to last longer without crashing yourself (overfilling a column causes you to go into a "respawn") or rack up big points. Also popular is Ninja Mono Elite mode, where there is no shoulder on the road and only one colour of block, but a lot of gray blocks (basically bricks) that you have to avoid.
I must say this game is absolutely amazing and definitely worth trying out, even buying when it becomes available.

Total Tokens: 9,788.74 Donate Tokens | There are six ways to play: - Mono : the blocks are either coloured or grey. You have to dodge the greys and collect the colours. Greys cannot be moved from the board on Casual, but all greys on the board can be wiped out (at the cost of points) in Ninja Mono by pressing the RMB. - Pointman : the 'normal' play mode. The thing here is that you can store up to three blocks by holding the LMB whilst colliding with them. To release them, right click. - Double Vision : either 1 or 2 players control 2 ships on a 4-lane track. The mouse controls No.1, the KB controls No.2. More points are awarded for links that use the middle two lanes. - Vegas : the variant here is the ability to shuffle the board, by moving the ship into the shoulder. After a charging time, the board is shuffled, hopefully getting matches. Best used when the board is completely full with dud matches. Also, you can use it all the time, even when your ship is respawning, except if you have no blocks in the field.. - Eraser : when you hold the LMB when you pass over a block, all blocks of that colour in the playing field are deleted. - Pusher : if you hold the LMB going over a block, you push it into the lane on your left, and vice versa for the right.

Looks really, really cool but I wanna see how it handles things like Society Suckers, m1dy, ad Lightning Bolt...

Lightning Bolt - Assassins was fun and so was Limit Break - Fly With Me.

But if you have the UK Gladiators theme, you'll have suprisingly lots of fun. And you'll also be quite emotionally scarred.
