Bit.Trip Beat

I was just checking out the Wii Wares channel and came upon this game. After buying and playing it for a bit, I'm absolutely addicted.

It's basically like pong + music game. There's really no other way to describe it, so check it out.

It's 600 points and includes three songs, but it's well worth it.

It seems that this is only the first release of the BIT.TRIP series. Wikipedia explains it further:

I'm still trying to decide, considering that it's $2 for each song......Though I must admit, I've very interested in the game.

Considering each level is about 10 minutes long, I'd say it's an alright deal.

Though I haven't gotten to the last level yet, so for all I know that one could be shorter.

The second level is the longest of the bunch, but the third level is significantly long and is definitely my favorite tune out of the three.

It is an interesting game. Takes a bit of getting used to, control-wise (as it's holding the 'mote horizontally and rolling it forward or back), but intuitive once you get the hang of it. The scoring system is interesting, requiring hitting a number of...dots? They're not all dots though...I'ma call them beats...anyway, you hit a bunch of them and the Mega meter fills, then switches to the upper mode where you can get multiplier points for filling the Multi+ meter. On the bottom is the Nether meter, which fills when you miss beats, and if it completes, you'll drop down a mode, either back to the starting one or into the monochrome "danger" mode, where you either game over by missing more or recover by hitting beats.

For $6, it's a sold buy.

I haven't tried Beat yet, but Core is wicked.

Difficult, but fun, and definitely unique.

Yeah, I downloaded Beat & Core not too long ago. I'm on the last stage for Beat & the 2nd stage for Core. Man, it gets so hard, but fun. I really like the 1st stage music for Beat.

So I just got Beat and Core; I'm stuck on Beat lv2, Core lv1. Amazing games, both.

I'm watching a tatsujin to learn how to do particular parts of Core 1, then going to figure out the rest myself.

I just got Bit.Trip Beat and this shit is hard. The controller controls definitely take a while to get used to, but otherwise the game is amazing.

Not to mention an update for the game that fixes the game saving bug (originally, you had to have a high score for the game to save. Now you can just beat the level to have it save).

Also, Bit.Trip Void hits WiiWare next Monday (23rd).
