Default Daigasso Band Brothers!!

Waded through the 8 pages of this forum and didn't come up over much more than several posts about this DS based rhythym game. I've been able to garner very little about it from the reviews and one video I was able to find. Can anyone explain the premise to me? How exactly does it play? Is it fun? Is it worth 34.95? I have a DS and the possibility of getting a rhythym game for it is quite appealing. (I've already decided to order Ouendan as well). Thanks!.

It's basically a midi-based rhythm game where you tap the screen and/or press buttons on the DS. The included songs are your usual j-pop fare stuff, but the coolest feature is that it comes with a built-in midi composer where you can create, or recreate, music, which then can be played yourself. It's really fun even if you don't know how to write music, but it's very easy to find midi versions of some of your favorite songs, load them up in another midi editor, and just copy them manually into the game. I'd recommend it, especially for the price.

Yes Daigasso is a really good game, one of my favorite actually.

There's a lot of songs with different style, from deep purple to Mozart, Christmas songs to Nintendo remix...

Like MechaGai said it's based over a midi-composed thing, so you can play each instrument from any song (including bass, drum, vocal etc)

There are some home-made videos I did last year :

Mario mix keyboard normal 40mo

J-pop Seasons Vocal Hard 25mo

Zelda Drum normal 37mo

Daigassou Band Brothers is my most played DS game. It's really fun and easy to pick up and play. I still haven't beaten the 99% attack yet though.......
And the editor is a great bonus!

I would recomend Band Brothers to anyone with a DS and an interest in rhythm games.

Just recreate some classic 8-bit songs like Bloody Tears or the Mario overworld theme. Those are always fun.

I absolutely love this game. This was one of the first games I bought when I got a DS (along with the Japanese version of Electroplankton). Either way... I have a review you can check out that explains how the game works. Like someone said previously... if you own a DS and have an interest in music games there is no reason you shouldn't own Band Brothers (and the GBA expansion that adds 30 more songs).

check out my review:

This game is fantastic. I downloaded a few midi files and I was able to get one into the game. I kept most of the tracks. I took out the drum track because I was lazy... it still sounded great, though. I still have fun playing that song.
