Default Dance Maniax Arcade Versions

So I've just come into possession of a Dance Maniax machine, and it looks to be thoroughly legit, even has a Konami certificate with it, hologram stickers, etc. Right now it's got 2nd Mix J-Append, but I discovered that the discs and security carts for 1st and 2nd Mix were also in the cabinet. This is my first experience with the insides of the machine, so I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether I'd have any trouble running the older mixes instead. Is it as simple as swap carts, power on, swap discs, play?

Also, what would it take to run Dance Freaks on the same hardware? Another disc and cart? Or are the machines incompatible (region-coded, whatever)?

Thanks for any insights! (Just gotta figure out how to wrangle this thing upstairs...)

Don't quote me on this but from what I know, you can pretty much run Dance Freaks (Korean version) using the same hardware (Bemani System 573 Digital).

That's based on what I know though......

Dunno if you fixed this up yet, but the kits will bind to the hardware once they are used. That said if the extra kits included were initially installed on your current machine, simply swapping/downgrading will be no problem.

On the other hand since Dance Freaks is the Korean version I'm sure hypothetically it could work on your machine but only if the kit has been unused prior which there's like a 0% chance of considering there was only one mix and Konami only sold machines and not kits. The hardware on the other hand should be the same.

To my knowledge there is no way to hack specifically an original DMX kit so it will install on any machine. However they seemed to have found a way to do this with DDR mixes which runs off the same hardware so you never know. Hopefully this answered some questions

Why would you want to downgrade it though? Dancemaniax 2nd Mix append J-Paradise is the best iteration of the series since 1st mix, I feel was very laggy and the grading system was pointless while 2nd mix on its own was good, but lacking in a song list.

I really wanna play Dance Freaks again. Although the one Dance Freaks we have here has a malfunctioning sensor.

I really loved the Korean songs included there. Especially that one korean song that has a boat and a cartoon guy in the BG Video.
