Cool DanceManiax Project

Hey guys, CREv. here. I wish to apologize for my lack of interest in this project after making the initial post. I would still like to embark on this project and will more than likely need help to do so. And to be honest, I forget I even created this thread in the first place. It would be great to continue the DanceManiax franchise and see if we could put our talents together and create a new and fantastic entry to this series.

Here are a few ideas I have concerning the project if anyone is still interested:

1.) One additional difficulty added (possibly called "Another" or "Crazy").
2.) Solo play is always centered by default.
3.) A bigger songlist including many crossover titles from previous Bemani games (especially songs from DDR 6th thru EXTREME).
4.) Continuation of courses with possibility (if agreed upon) of mods.
5.) Possible use of USB device for edits.
6.) A new, high resolution theme representing DanceManiax 2nd Mix J-PARADISE look and feel.

To answer the question concerning support for DanceManiax in StepMania, it already exist under "dance". Since DDR already uses four targets the only thing that would need to change for DanceManiax is the noteskin used and support for the eight sensors.

As I mentioned before, if anyone is still interested in this project, please let me know. If things start rolling in the right direction, I know we can make this project amazing.

- CREv.

Well those are all points we've already discovered.

I'm already working on the songs in the game, i don't want it fo be all DDR/bemani crossovers because it's gonna feel pretty obvious, i want it to be as close to what a real dancemaniax release would be as possible, so i'm centering more on dancemania licenses (on my song list i have 15 licenses and 14 konami originals)

Adding another diffuclty wont be a good idea since there's really so much you can do with a DMX chart, it's either easy or hard, there's nothing in between.

Working on a theme is very difficult since DMX theme is very unique, i have no experience on theme making so i can't help in that department, i don't know if anyone is going to.

oh this is so cool, I just started working on a DMX project!
I'm totally looking forward to playing your mix Danny!
Also I made a noteskin for it already XD
>>DMX2.zip<<

I hope to build a DMX USB controller soon to play it with so I'll post updates on that as they happen/don't happen. XD

Is anyone still interested in this?

I wanna know if someone is gonna work/is working on a theme so i can make banners for my sims, it would be pretty pointless for me to go on making the files if no one is working on a theme.

I'm gonna start taking line-out videos of the note charts on every machine we own soon for something we're working on related to the site. I would gladly upload these somewhere for use on this project if it is going to move forward.

I can help skin stepmania after finals ( in two weeks) Like I said on a earlier post, Ive been waiting for this for a couple years haven't got around to skinning. A great idea would be to have the stepmania that supports the PPP controllers. Then people can have a home dance maniax and really enjoy inferred gaming! Definitely interested in this project and anyway I can help.

Hey... If you guys want to find a themer, why not post something in theme discussion. I mean... it wouldn't be breaking the rules,

* Typically, some sort of reward should be involved, as making a theme takes quite some time. For non-for-profit organizations/projects, a reward is not required.
AND I WOULD REALLY HATE TO SEE THIS GO TO WASTE. When I'm at an arcade with DMX, I don't even TOUCH the DDR machine and I really want a bigger song list.

Double Postin' ...'cause I tried something out.
So I got me a PPP controller and wanted to see if I had the ability to make a home DanceManiaX controller... So then... My main problem is that the sensors in the PPP controller go off when facing the ground unless they're like... 6 feet in the air... There wouldn't be any way to shorten the sensor height would there?

Also... I'll try to make a theme again... I'm no good with metrics though, but I'll try since no one else is doing anything. I can do graphics just fine though. I'll definitely do what I can.. But should it be made for SM4 so if we can figure out how it'd work we can use a PPP controller?

Thanks for working on a theme.

The sensors on a PPP controller can be adjusted to the height of the sealing, just look for those little pink knobs on the side.
