Default DJ Hero details.

Kotaku's DJ Hero article

Recent Activision acquisition FreeStyleGames is hard at work on DJ Hero, a music rhythm game that will let gamers scratch to the beat of popular mash-ups with a laptop turntable peripheral, informed sources tell us today.

The game, which has been in development for nearly two years, is expected to hit shelves next summer and will likely include the ability to use Guitar Hero guitars for versus mode face-offs.

well, apparently they're hard at work on it.

BMUS was released 2 years ago. Activision's been working on the game for 2 years.....COINCIDENCE?! I THINK NOT?!

Seriously, it'll be interesting to see what the controller will look like & what the songlist will be like.

& how many reviewers will forget about reviewing BMUS...

Heh

That's for real DJs and professional sound producers.

Anyways, something like that would cost around 500 American dollars or so (based on the fact the Pioneer DVJ 1000 DVD Turntable costs around 2000 American dollars)

Heh :P

At least it's appears that it's going to be extremely different, not IIDX with a few extra switches, unlike the comparison between GF and GH. I actually want to see how this turns out. They still are copying the whole DJ Simulation thing, but I guess we can't blame Activision for Konami not releasing GF/DM and beatmania in the US 10 years ago.

Yeah, from the article it really does sound like Crackin' DJ.

(I've never heard of Crackin' DJ before, but watching some youtube videos made me want to try it.)

It doesn't look as bad at all to me (based from what I've seen so far).

Still, I guess we'll actually have to wait and see for ourselves.

Well actually, there was a US release of the first Guitar Freaks, and a couple mixes of Beatmania were released as Hiphopmania, and then of course there's BMUS.

Obviously none of those ever took off here though.

IIRC HiphopMania didn't do too bad in the arcades. Granted it was 10 years ago so my memory might not serve me correctly. I just remember almost every arcade I went to had a Hiphopmania.

I expect Konami to sue if this gets big. This will also probably make me want to bust the head of every douche who will say that this game is going to be better then IIDX with my KOC

Well, it will either be this or those same people saying that IIDX is a rip off of DJ Hero.

Or worse - Konami will come out with "DJ Revolution" and people will be saying "what are they doing releasing this in America, they should be tapping the Japanese market for DJ games"

I swear I want to punch every person that says Konami should be targeting Japan with Rock Revolution
