i am actually interested in these game companies trying to bring the flavor of japan over and even companies like pentavision for making the djmax series.

That interview totally sold me lol

The gameplay screen looks cool and I like how it comes in from the side but I wish it was bigger (GH has it in the middle and easily visible, and it's still easy to see everything) and being able to freestyle your own personal touches into the song sounds awesome, I just hope it's more expansive than, say, RB's drum fills (I'm especially excited for this part because it makes the game more than another buttonsmash game)

And if you guys spit on it because it's a Beatmania ripoff then sure, go ahead, but then you guys will be missing out

I'll judge it when it comes out. Depends on how well it plays, how well the controller that they make for it is, price, & music (perhaps the biggest part).

I'd be more mad of people accusing beatmania as a rip-off of this game.

I hope this game gets popular. Maybe this will motivate Konami to release a better IIDX to America.

Like how Guitar Hero made them release a better version of Guitar Freaks in the US.

We'll be very lucky if IIDX ends up popular enough in the US to justify releasing it there.

Guitar Hero did nothing but create Negative attention toward GuitarFreaks, this will more than likely do the same.

But in the case of IIDX and this, IIDX has more buttons and so far, much much harder charts.

GF/GH drama is mostly nothing but "oh that has 3 buttons its GH for noobs lolol asians". If drama came from this itd be "NO LIFE id rather stick with my 5 button game lolol asians".

Trailer is out.

For those outside the US:

The trailer shows very, very short clips of gameplay. Imagine beatmania done Guitar Hero-style, complete with colorful notes and no timing windows. Most of the trailer is either big words, random city shots, or people, DJs, and garbage cans dancing. The trailer wants you to "get ready to become the ultimate DJ", claims "the party starts with you", and that "the music is in YOUR hands."

The game features "hottest names in hiphop", such as Kanye West, Beastie Boys, Run DMC, Black Eyed Peas, Eric B. And Rakim, Tech N9ne, Mix Master Mike, The Gorillaz [sic], Nelly, Deltron 3030, and more. The song in the trailer is Lil Wayne's "Go DJ", which is littered with many random turntable sound effects that is not in tempo with the song. No release date is shown in the trailer other than "Coming Soon".

I feel that everyone here is too quick to judge on this game. Without knowledge of controller and music selection, how are we to know how this game will be? I'm not saying it's going to be a good game, but I'm saying that one shouldn't judge a game on a couple of screen shots and a paragraph.
