Default Guitar Rock Tour DS

Anyone ever play that game yet? I just returned it to Gamefly and I've written a review for it on the site.

Quote:
First of all, I'd just like to say what a very creative and original name they came up for this one.

Now that that's out of the way, I'd like to talk about the plot. All it is is just one of your cliche no-name-neighborhood- garage- band- to- major- recording- band- playing- in- huge- arenas stories, like some other game that I know of (I'm looking in your direction, Alvin and the Chipmunks for the PS2). Again, the plot is uninspired, but that doesn't really matter in a DS game.

The songlist? Hmm... it's nice. They're all covers though. I admit, they're pretty good. Nothing brilliant, however.

At least the gameplay is decent. All you have to do is touch the notes in time with the music at the bottom of the screen. It's a rhythm game, what else do you do? But when you get to the hard level, that's when it gets painful and frustrating, especially on What's My Age Again. Seriously, I dare you not to get frustrated when playing that one on Hard.

In conclusion, this game is more playable than Alvin, but way less playable than Rock Revolution, Guitar Hero, and Rock Band. You want a really good rhythm game for the DS, play Elite Beat Agents for God's sake! Better yet, go get one of the Guitar Heroes for the DS (actually I haven't played them yet, but I can imagine that they're 3x better than this). But on the subject of "guitar" games (or at least games that focus on garage bands moving on up), PLEASE NO MORE! Seriously, I don't think we need another game developer trying to compete with GH or RB. I mean, I'll be looking forward to another GH and RB, but please, if you're going to make a rhythm game, don't make it into a GH competitor. End of review.
I'd take back what I said about plot not mattering in a DS game. If you were playing Final Fantasy or something, then yeah, it DEFINITELY matters.

So yeah, this game was kind of a letdown. Ugh, I can't stand the title either, it's ridiculous! What are your thoughts?

Yeah, EBA I played the hell out of. I thought it was the best game for the DS. Like I said in my review, I haven't played one of the Guitar Heroes yet, but eventually I will go out and buy one.
