I think there might be a beatmania IV if Technika takes off.

But then there would be complaints, and then we get beatmania IIIDX. And then it would be beatmania 3 on PS3 and then people will be like "oh this is awesome."

Perhaps......but probably not in this global economic climate (which is suffering in downward states atm). Besides, there are already other BEMANI games that use this concept (as stated above).

And if they ever released beatmania IV, the beatmania series would just become analogous to the Street Fighter series, since both game series have that "sequels within a sequel" thing (esp. for IIDX (obviously) and SF3's case).

did they ever even release just a beatmania II? I thought it was originally called II Delux or something but they were like nah let's just call it IIDX so it looks cool and people can call it "two-dicks"

1st mix/substream (possibly second?) were smaller, cheaper cabinets (didn't have the floor subwoofer, didn't have some other stuff) so they were BM II cabinets

you could alternatively get a BM IIDX (deluxe) that would have all of these things

eventually they realized this was stupid and got rid of non-DX machines
