Yeah that's right, I like my pedo-otaku-nerdy-fanboy games, but I have no idea why I'm addicting to this damn game. The music is also too damn catchy.

Please say I'm not the only one that plays this (and L4U).

Parts of it can be considered, especially Live For You. Auditions and some of the lessons are...kinda sorta anyhow.

I love Idolm@ster. I think its so bad that I do, but its so fucking addicting... I have no regrets buying a 2nd xbox 360 just for that game, and L4U. I dont even know Japanese, but I still think Idolm@ster is great, but I am sure I would love it a ton more if I could comprehend Japanese.

L4U is definitely a music game though. Think of boom boom Rocket except it goes in a straight line to the left, like Taiko. This was alot of fun also, but the DLC is too expensive, and the song list was really short for the same reason (everything was supposed to be downloaded for the remixes). The art book it came with was terrible lol.

If you have a Japanese 360, definitely pick up L4U, and if you know Japanese pick up Idolm@ster (unless you dont mind guessing randomly alot).

However, I'm poor, so no Japanese 360 for me. :[ I'm considering importing those PSP games that are coming out.

How generally import friendly are they? I can't read a single word of Japanese. x_x

Well if its like L4U, sort of friendly, you wont get the speeches, but that wont matter at all. If its like the first game, its not friendly at all. It like a dating sim in only Japanese essentially, but it still is alot off fun if you dont mind guessing.

Heard the PSP titles play more like the original then L4U (meaning Japanese is a must, of course translations already exist if they used the same lines as the arcade/360 versions)

Played 2 seasons on the 360 but don't think I'd play the series again. I haven't even played 360 in a long time and PS3 is getting all my favorite 360 titles (except Ikaruga

) The concept is kind of unique but isn't something for everyone.

There are videoes online how to navigate your way through the Communication aspects to get Perfect every time. The only parts that you'll have to kind of guess is the morning and audition communications (but I generally hit random buttons since all it affects is the tension...which may be good or bad depending on the idol). Knowing a little Japanese helps though =P

L4U you don't need to know any Japanese at all.

Is S rank worth the trouble though? I thought you get the best ending with A and S rank anyway?

It's worth doing once just to say you did it. S rank = audition grind.
