Need some help with a Dance Maniax machine

I just received and built a Dance Maniax 2nd mix machine. Everything seems to be working fine, except for the screen, which does not show anything. I turned on the On/Off switch in the front and the On/Off switch in the back bottom corner. Is there a switch I am missing, or some hard-to-find wiring I missed?
I see that there is a monitor input port on the CD rom drive, but I've searched and there doesn't seem to a cable coming from the monitor to plug into it, so I'm guessing it's irrelevant...

If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Darnit...this happens with every arcade machine I buy...It can never be simple...

it's possible that the monitor wasn't discharged before it was shipped. that can cause a lot of problems :/

when you turn the machine on, do you hear the monitor try to come on at all? it would be a high-pitched whining

I think there might be a very low buzzing. No high pitched whining.

My guess would be that the monitor or some of the chips on it are blown. If you're feeling up to it, you may want to get a voltage meter and check some of the parts of the board. Do you know how to do that?

I found a tutorial on-line on how to discharge a screen and test the levels, but I think I'm gonna go the safe route and just get Betson to do it for me. The guy I bought the machine from agreed to pay for the repairs, so that just seems like the easiest way to go.
