Default Nintendo DS

I'm gettin a DS soon and curious if there are any DS Rythm games that are any fun at all. Also GBA games would be cool too.

At least not yet. However there were Bemani games released for Game Boy Color, such as Dance Dance Revolution, Beatmania, and Pop'n Music.
The Pop'n Music GB series are not listed under Game Info, but they are Pop'n Music GB and Pop'n Music Animation Melody.

Somewhere I read that Elite Beat Agents (might not be the right title; I apologize) was coming for the DS. You poked "rhythm points" or something in beat to the music. It has a comic book style presentation and is supposed to be odd a la Gitaroo-Man. Sounds like a winner to me.

There are only 2 rhythm games for the DS, both japanese:

Osu Takatae Ouendan (or it's american counterpart Elite Beat Agents)
Ossu Tatakae Ouendan/Elite Beat Agents thread

and

Daigasso! Band Brothers (aka Jam With The Band)

I think there is another one called elektroplankton or something like that, as soon as i get info i'll edit this post

edit****

little review
Electroplankton, were it a sweet, would certainly belong in the second category. Though it calls the DS home, it's not even a game; instead it's a kind of music mixer that allows you to build up simple plinky-plonky tunes by manipulating disco-dabbling sea creatures with your stylus, and occasionally blathering into the microphone
link
and yep, my bad, is not a music game

Electroplankton isn't a music game so much as an interactive "toy" program with a bunch of little things that you can do.

As far as real music games, I would recommend Daigasso Band Brothers since it has some cool features like letting you put in your own custom MIDI songs. Ouendan doesn't really seem all that appealing to me.

I have Electroplakton, and its not really a game, per se. Its just a neat musical "experience" thats lets you mess around with it's various tools. It's very cool though.

Pretty much will have to agree here. The game is....well...awesome. My friend turned me on to it at ACen, and now I'm hooked. Very fun game.

Also, Daigasso! Band Brothers (aka Jam With The Band) has an expansion that adds more songs. It's on an Advance cartridge, so you have both the DS and Adv. in at once. With both carts in, you get a total of 66 songs; which is very nice for killing time anywhere. Plus, the game starts out pretty easy, but once you get it to Pro mode, it's challenging. Not overly hard (well, at times it is), but once you get the hang of the song it's fun. The nice thing about it, too, is that it has download play. So not everyone needs the carts. Everyone takes different insturments and plays them for a song, and whoever does the best wins. It's very funny to listen to a bunch of people screwing up on the harder songs.
