O2Jam X2

Also known as O2Jam: Season 2. The long anticipated edition is finally approaching, and this one is LEGIT (not the crappy Chinese one). Sadly, it's Korea that's getting it (no surprise) this Summer, but since this is the real one, all versons will get it, meaning that Malaysian players will have this edition sometime around Winter this year or earlier. You can sign-up for the beta if you want, but they select players at random, so don't get your hopes up on getting in (unless few people sign up, which is very unlikely).

Here's what's known so far:

Versions:
-Malaysia or Japan will be the first to get it after Korea.
-China will MOST LIKELY not get it since they were sued by O2Media for making their own O2Jam version, known as "Burst a Fever".
-Thai also MOST LIKELY won't get it since they stopped getting updates almost a year ago.

System:
-New interface.
-Free songs (no more Pay2Play songs).
-New "JamStar" system, which replaces the old Experience/Mission system. This JamStar system is nessecary to get to the higher level planets, allowing you to play harder songs.
-Avatars will POSSIBLY have stats. Those who have played DJMAX will be familiar with this. Those who haven't played DJMAX, this means that each time you buy something for your avatar, you stats go up, sometimes an extra bonus in money during songs or an EXP increase.

RUMOR:
-O2Jam X2's source code has been leaked, if true, there's no Gameguard/nProtect so far.

I didn't get picked for the beta players (big surprise).

I hope Korea isn't IP blocked when it's released!!!

aww yes malaysia getting it soon that rawks.btw im living in malaysia ftw.everyone's crazy about o2jam,but no one knows iidx,stepmania,ddr,and very few people play guitar hero...

I'm Malaysian too. Regular Ez2dj player. Personally speaking I despise most of O2jam's system. This update is much too late to make me change my mind, they had their chance perhaps 2-3 years ago.

The real thing they need to fix. The music.

I guess it is just a matter of personal taste, because I actually enjoyed a lot of the music, like Milk Chocolate, Bride In Dream, and V3. The classical music was really cool too.

But when I first started I remember how people always wanted to play ZL and Fly Magpipe.

Some of the songs can get annoying, Hey Iggy! KanKan...but personally I wasn't bothered too much by the songs. as long as you were the host and pick good songs...and made sure everyone had all the songs, which was a problem with the game. Playing on random sucked because you might end up playing just a few songs...

One question I might want to ask (haven't been keeping track until DJMax closing announcement)

1)Since a Malaysian date isn't set for X2, should I consider buying points for the version E-games is hosting now or is there any news recently?

I'm thinking about picking this up again (mostly for 7k fix) and I'm on the fence about whether to buy some e-points or not and if I did what songs I should get them on. If you think I should, any good sites for paypal users since I'm not sure which sites are reliable in terms of buying e-points from.

Hm this is cool but.... I still wanna play EZ2ON a bit more..... And yeah, they do have a lot of holiday music... plus some of the songs are really badaly mixed. I mean, geeze! Distortion and everything.

Maybe they fixed that in the second one.

Oh, and yeah. I have Burst A Fever and it's kinda.... glitchy. It's a lot like DANCE Online which actually isn't bad. But B.A.F. is ok but still.... the songs on there are actually pretty decent though. I do like the 3D-ness although the characters really don't do much.

The other thing is that O2Jam doesn't have any 3D-ness or BG vids which makes it a bit boring to look at. I know that sounds kinda picky but yeah.

It's not picky DreamCube. This is the year 2008. The game still looks like the beta back in 2001. I don't know how any gamer can withstand that kind of ignorance on the developer's part.

And V3/Amadeus/Earthquake are average, playable songs, they're not the kind that would make you want to play the game more, but you'd like to play them every once in a while. What I'm looking for is really good music that fucking blows your mind, not crap that any 2 bit composer (Someone "AHEM!" deserves to die for Gaussian Blur) can churn out. Considering the amount songs that O2 have, only a handful are remembered, and most of them are forgotten right after they're played. When you have played the game for several years. The interest wanes because of the lack of good songs coming out. People still play V3 a thousand times a day and it's friggin' 4 years old. Sheesh. Move on, people. There are better music out there. *Points to Ez2On and Djmax.*
