O2Jam X2 summary Ok i've just been playing for about an hour, so i'll give you a summary.
The game tends to freeze and crash if you go into "My room" and try to sell anything. That's a warning to anyone interested in the game.
This game is basically a definition of beta. It's VERY VERY basic right now. It's also very hard to navigate (I still don't understand everything) since so far, it's practically 99% Korean, i'll take screens and translate tomorrow.
It does look like all songs will be free, but of course to balance, you have to pay for avatars. From the looks of it, avatars will not have stat bonuses.
Probably the most interesting aspect of the game is the leveling system. Throw out the old level system you were used to and take all songs and base them on a scale of 1-100. Waiting for love is Lv. 1 while End of Fight is Lv. 100. This is an extremely confusing level system, but as it is closed beta, it's likely to change. So far you can play up to level 40 songs (which would be about lv. 17s or 18s in O2Jam now) and there's only one song per level. While you can see songs above level 40, you can't play them. I'm not sure if songs will be available on all difficulties when released, but so far, it's looking like they're all on HX.
Now about the JamStar system. This is the same as doing missions in O2Jam now, but instead of having certain requirements, it looks like all you have to do is pass the song. You only have to do the first 6 missions or so, then you'll be prompted to lv. 60 (since it's closed beta, alot of games do wierd level transitions like that). The JamStar system will hopefully change also.
Positive:
-The theme is more pleasing to the eye than the current theme.
-You can see who is winning constantly throughout the song, as they use the "golden globe" rings around the player who is winning, like in the World Championship.
-New songs...FREE at that also.
-The avatars blend in more to the JamArenas.
Negative:
-The level system is EXTREMELY confusing.
-The JamStar level system is very easy.
-The game crashes alot.
-Can't play anything past Lv. 40.
Rating: 8/10
Recommended: No. It's better to wait until open beta or the release date before getting the game.
As this is a Closed beta, I won't be too critical on the game. Many concepts will be thrown in and out of this time, so alot of the stuff that is disappointing now might not be in the game come release date. One thing for sure is, if the level system and JamStar system stay as they are now, many players will not be satisfied.
I will upload pics and stuff tomorrow. |
