Default o2mania Beatmanis US CTRL Help

Hello everyone. I have a generic ps2/gc/xbox to usb converter that I plugged my US Beatmania controller into. Under Game Controllers, I can see red lights that correspond to a controller button when i press certain keys, which means that everything is working as it should. I used JoyToKey to map these keys to the correct buttons in o2mania. I load up o2mania and viola. It doesn't work. I can press any KEYBOARD key (out of my specified SDF[SPACE]JKL) and the columns will light up. However when i tap on any buttons on the Beatmania controller nothing happens. Anyone have any idea why o2mania isn't recognizing my controller?

-As a bit of info, my keyboard shows up under Game Controllers because the stupid company thought it would be cool to market it as a gaming device. Could it be that o2mania is accepting input from only one device?

Thanks in advance for the help...

Okay, people. I just tried this on a completely different computer, and NOTHING works. In the Game controllers menu under Control Pannel, I can press buttons, move analog sticks, spin the turntable, basically do anything with any type of controller, and I get perfect key registrations every time. For example, I press the X button and the corresponding key (Button 3, I think) lights up red every time I press it. However, I go into Joy To Key, map my controls, and nothing happens. It IS a problem with JTK!!! I tested it by mapping mouse movements to my controllers, and nothing worked. It HAS to be some sort of configuration issue. Can someone PLEASE help me!? Even a re-direct to another referencing site for Joy To Key would be helpful!

Hi,

I'm not so used "to use" JoyToKey (I'm using AutoHotKey, with this you can make some "advanced" script). But I have the impression that something is wrong in your mapping...

This is really not normal. I don't understand how by pressing any KEYBOARD keys (out of your o2mania configuration) it will generate an event in your specified SDF[SPACE]JKL. Somethinng wrong here.

O2mania for sure doesn't recognize your controller, it's because of that you use a key mapping program. And I don't see the point why o2mania will not respond to JoyToKey event (it should work... I think... never try it with JoyToKey).

Maybe to test if JoyToKey works well, for example try to map all your boutons of your game controller to a specific letters in your keyboard. Then use wordpad to write some text and press your controller keys. If it works in wordpad and not in o2mania (it means than joy2key is not "compatible" with o2mania...and really I will not understand why becuase JTK just send KEYBOARD key pressed events).

At worst, try to use AutoHotKeys (but be carefull it's a bit more complicated so you need to read the documentation).

It's a problem with Joy To Key. I tried mapping buttons to other things that are not in a game, such as mouse functions on Windows, and it still didn't work. There has to be something I didn't configure correctly in the program.

And about the confusion of pressing any button in o2mania, I can press any button WITHIN sdf[space]jkl so I press S and the left column lights up. I can't just press any button on the keyboard.
