Default Rhythm Nation - The hell is this game?

I recently visited that gigantic McDonald's in Orlando, FL (odd that I haven't been there but I've lived in central Florida for 5 years already) which is famous for having an upstairs and downstairs arcade (among other things).

Anyway, I looked around the upstairs arcade and saw an old PIU (the first international one), Percussion Master and some weird rhythm game I have NEVER heard of--Rhythm Nation.

I looked over the machine and notice multiple buttons to press, a la pop'n music.
The graphics on the screen looked like poo, but I thought, "Hey, why don't I try it anyway?"

So I started playing some song (which I don't remember the name of) and I had come to the realization--this game blows chunks of diarrhea.

When these balls drops down the screen, you're supposed to press the according buttons, but I have NO idea which ones, because they aren't color-coordinated and the buttons hardly respond anyway.
If only the arcade had pop'n music, and not this piece of crap.

Suck-tacular game, but I was wondering if anyone else had come across this game before? It must be quite rare, because I've never heard of it until now.

It's meant to be a redemption game, and was manufactured by ICE, who is best known for Ski-Ball machines. I wouldn't take it too seriously.

Elitches in Denver had one for a while.

They got rid of it last year, but not before I won over 3000 tickets out of it :-D
