Rock Revolution gets to stand on its own and not get criticized by American gamers as being too foreign and Bemani loyalists don't scream to high heaven about how they're not homogenizing the franchise to their aesthetics.

| I have no idea what that means but I'm sure they're still doing that

Marketplace Rating: 1 | After watching the videos, it looks like they decided to go with the GH/RB approach of playing all the notes perfectly on-beat, but if you miss a note it'll play a stupid noise that sounds nothing like if you actually played the wrong note
Some of the covers are pretty terrible, too. Some are good, but the vocalists should be shot and never allowed to touch a microphone again.
Chop Suey! is just awful. Protip: don't get a generic punk rock singer and try and pass him off as someone that sounds remotely like Serj Tankian.

Marketplace Rating: 2 | Hi this is my first post so I'll try to make it short
I honestly think Rock Revo is going to be a fairly decent game. The drum prephirial looks good, and the game its self is not lacking in visuals. So asthetically, it has the potential for something good
What bugs me though, is the fact that all over the inter-butts i see people complaining about the covers. The fact that all the songs are covers. Is it really that important? When it comes down to it, are you going to base your rating on a game because it uses covers or because the gameplay mechanics were good and fun?
Also I've seen on the internet, several complaints about having to buy yet another controller for a game. While I'm sure the gameplay experience would be more profound with the actual drum controller made for the game, it's compatible with the RB drums as well as the GH:WT drums (and guitars for that matter).
It also pisses me off to see magazine writers, such as the one in the new issue of Game Informer, completely write off a game. I do not quote this verbatum (sp?) but the sentence basically reads in the issue "heck even Rock Revo is compatible with the RB and GH drums, but no one is gonig to play it anyway"
Also, i've read some comments and reviews of people who have actually played this at conventions and what not on the actual drumpad for it, and I've not heard a bad review about it from anyone. They've all enjoyed it.
So to sum this all up
I'm annoyed by people that think it sucks b/c it's all covers, though the gameplay could possibly be better than GH and/or RB. I admit that non-covers would be nice, but is it really THAT important. People shouldn't just write this game off b/c they think it's another GH and/or RB clone.

Indeed I can't see how Konami would even see major success on this
With those kinds of schemes.

Good examples are Jet World, Dragon Blade (from the OST), WE ARE & ESCAPE TO THE SKY (both album versions), Riff Riff Paradise/Orbit, Hotaru and Konoko (both album versions), most album versions from BeForU, and even lots of Japanese licenses (NOT dubbed) from Asian Kung-Fu Generation, Maximum The Hormone, Dir En Grey, Bump Of Chicken, and others.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Let's keep on dreaming... I mean if they could release this shame under the Bemani label without any KO on it and on top of that only covers licenses, it's just Rock Band 1.1... IF they choose to make a sequel to this shaky project, they definitely have to catch up the big mistake they made, but I wouldn't bet on the fact that they'll make a sequel, neither that they'll ever give us any BeforU songs on it... But man it would rock!
