The funny part about that is Steve Ouimette (DWDTG, We Three Kings in GHIII) apparently did all the covers for this game.

Konami’s Rock Revolution

Scheduled for release this fall, Steve was responsible for producing the entire set of songs on Rock Revolution. A total of 40 songs, Steve produced as well as played guitar and bass on all tracks. Mixed by Ryan Greene at Crush Recording, this is Steve’s single largest undertaking to date for re-records.
The DWDTG cover in GH3 was amazing, how in the hell did this come from the same guy? (The guitarwork is excellent but the vocalwork is UGH)

You know, my wife and I were talking about the fact that people have such a problem with this game having all covers.

But if you think about it from a "game" perspective, it makes sense. What i mean by this is, In GH III, that one guy on the stage sings all the songs (except a few). It's amazing that his one vocal sounds like soooooo many different people lol. It must be hard to transition vocals from sounding like Metallica to THe Kaiser Chiefs, and then to My Chemical Romance. I'm impressed.

It just makes sense, again from a "game" perspective, that the character on the stage singing (and the band for that matter) are covering these songs.

***In all seriousness, this is part-ly and LOL post, but it's something to consider

SOOOOOO, it appears that some DLC has been announced on the front page.

All I can say is, I can't believe that Model DD8 made it on & a NEW Des-Row song (which I hope makes it on V6).

More suggestions if there's a next DLC and in their long versions:

AXIS
Dragon Blade
The Least 333 Sec
Jake In The Box
Riff Riff Paradise
Riff Riff Orbit
more songs of Asaki from his debut album
MORE songs of Kozo Nakamura!

Can't think about more.

I wonder if someone will make a comparison video of the charts from RR & the original charts from GF/DM.

so can someone comment on the actual gameplay? like.. is it actually bad or is IGN just lame. it seems decent from what i watched.. the drumset looks a little funky but pretty cool at the same time.

debating whether or not i can justify buying this.

It plays well enough. Reading the charts is pretty easy and it has some neat ideas. I'll be picking it up for cheap whenever it drops in price.

for PS3 I can find no confirmation of the RR drums working on RB or GHWT (is the set that new?)

I'll probably get the drums set once I can find *ahem* one at wal-mart that fell off a truck

I don't think that's gonna happen unless the Des-ROW song has Japanese vocals.

Anyway, it's nice to see CHIMERA in it. Awesome song (except the boring middle part) Also, MODEL DD8.

really
the vocals kill it, the covers are all fine except the singers are so.... cheesy? None of them are BAD just they're bland/indistinct and it kills the atmosphere of the songs... these sound like the EBA covers only goofier.
it'd be better with Michael A La Mode on every song.

Also lack of singer/karaoke mode except on DS... THAT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE.
