Default Samba De Amigo (Wii)

So who's going to buy the game when it comes out? It comes out on the 23rd of Sept. (2 days after my b-day) & it's only going to be $40, so I'm going to be getting this. I'd still like to know when Sega will release downloadable songs & how much they'll cost, & if'll be in bundles or if you can download each song individually.

What songs are you hoping will be available to download? I'm hoping for some Sega game songs, like Super Sonic Racing (which was downloadable for the Dreamcast version).

Yeah, I just saw that. Neat that they've already got DLC planned for the day of Samba De Amigo's release. I wonder how many Wii points it'll cost & how often they'll release them. I think I'll buy it w/ the leftover Wii points that I'll have after buying Mega Man 9.

Might buy it, need a reason to play the Wii, but I'm not so sure about the DLC since I don't know if my problems with other games like Wii Sports or other games because I can't play in a cramped room with a ceiling fan without places where the signal drops dead.

Let's see..my favorite songs from the Dreamcast version are returning, Love Mode and the classic minigames have been confirmed, DLC, and Ulala. Yep, I'm stoked.

Did anyone else find it odd that Sega somehow obtained the master track of "Groove is in the Heart" let alone for a game that features Ulala. Kier must be pissed.

I want those Dreamcast "downloadable" songs to be available again. I wanna play Super Sonic Racing, Let Mom Sleep from Jet Grind Radio, & other Sega songs.

I'm surprised that even though it's only 6 days away, we STILL don't know what the price is for the songpacks . Not to mention that I'm sure or not if we'll be getting the maraca attachments (I know you can buy them seperate, but they're $15...). I'm sure I'll be getting the game when it gets out (& possibly the DLC), so I'll post my impressions.

I got the call from GameStop a few minutes ago. Aeris said my copy will be in tomorrow. After reading a couple of game reviews, I'm a little worried about the controls. Both reviews say they work fine for Easy mode, but it's frustrating when trying to get the wii-motes to sense your movements correctly on the harder difficulties.

Ugh..maybe the new wii motion-plus will smooth things over whenever it comes out. Regardless, I'm still picking up the game.

Yeah, I've been hearing the same thing about the controls, which is making me skeptical about downloading songs. I'm having my dad pick up my copy today, so I'll be getting mine around 4 PM EST.

I'd still like to know how much it costs to download songs....

So I've played the game a bit & I must admit, the controls (although I'm kinda close & am sitting down) are mixed, but when it DOES work, it can be kinda fun, but it'll hurt your arms after awhile. I feel like the Motion Plus would possibly make this game better. Can someone confirm the price of the song pack? I kinda feel like saving my 1,000 wii points for a SNES game & Protoman on Mega Man 9.

Also, no maraca add-ons like rumored is kinda disappointing.

BTW, is it easier to play with 2 Wiimotes or Wiimote+nunchuk? I kinda feel like the 2 Wiimotes would be easier.

I managed to complete Career Mode after failing so many times along the way, not because the songs are hard..but the controls are hard to work with on the Super Hard difficulty setting.

500 pts.($5)
"Are You Gonna Be My Girl"- Jet
"I Want Candy" - Bow Wow Wow
"Mambo Mambo" - Lou Bega

I haven't tried the nunchuck+wii-mote combo, but I haven't had too much luck with 2 wii-motes given the occasional BOO's I received.

God it's like I'm fighting the controls just to make things work. I use the Wiimote+Nunchuck approach, and it isn't any better. :\

I think the biggest problem is that it isn't as intuitive as I'd want it to be. All the high, mid, and low sensing is based on the tilt of the controllers, and for some reason, it just doesn't detect it fast enough.

Also, if there are a stream of fast notes, or if you're moving the controller to a different area really fast, it'll shake constantly, or early, or RIGHT when you move to the area, and that makes me get non-perfects, and that's annoying as hell.

It usually works fine for me on Easy, but for some reason on Normal, the middle right has some trouble being recognized...

Also, $5 for 3 songs = Fail. That's $1.66 per song....Yeah, I think I'll save my wii points on Mega Man 9 DLC & a SNES game. Unless Sega releases Sega songs like in the DLC for the Dreamcast.

When the game DOES work, it can be fun. I'm going to try & see if I can play this where there's more room.

So yeah....

I hit a brick wall at Sonic's Challenge (first hard set of songs) with Low Rider and the one under it.

Then ended up beating it after a few tries. Then flew through to Ulala's Challenge (whatever the last song is in the set) and had to play it like 10 times to pass it.

After that I beat the rest of Hard...now on Super-hard. I stopped after Pose's Challenge (first set) and decided to take a bit of a break.

I also bought the dlc pack, haven't played those songs yet.

So far, the upside has been how 'dancy' it's making me during the songs. The downside: partially the controls.

The calibration never helped me to be honest. I just think it's to teach the player how to pose. I've never played any of the other Samba editions, so this is my first stab at it. I've been using 2 wiimotes, and I have an issue getting my right hand to hit the upper target

Did I mention I've been playing it for a total of maybe 5 hours? Yeah...that's the part that makes me slightly sad. I unlocked all the minigames too. I figure I'm going to be through the 'golden maracas' challenge by mid-day tomorrow. I've watched the first bonus video and was shocked at the length...it goes pretty in depth with how they re-mixed the music. God every song sounds good with speakers...they did a great job with it.

It's gonna be fun playing with friends though.

The music is definitely great though. Totally did not see them re-doing Take on Me as a Ska cover. The lead synth melody totally lends itself to Ska.

If you want the song, it's on their CD:

"Our Live Album Is Better Than Your Live Album" and their greatest hits cd.

Well, 6 1/2 hours of playing it and I've beat the game.

So yeah, that tells ya how bad the controls are, as in not at all as long as you figure out what you have to do exactly to get the targets that are 'flakey'.

The only thing that bugs me is wedding march is in the list in quick play, but I can't find out how to unlock it.

I found a post on gamefaqs, but I can't tell if it's lovelove mode, or if you have to 100% something (the last post in the thread was like "I played it on easy...100% the first two then 94%"...so absolutely not helpful).
