Thumbs up Some music games I wanna mention... (videos now available, scroll down for links!)

I went to the SM Mall Of Asia one day (that's in the Philippines, mind you but it's frickin' huge!) when I came accross two music games the were "new" to me.

Here's Toy's March from Konami: http://www.channelbeat.com/products/...neous/440.html

It's a simple music game for kids (since I had to bend my back a little bit) that features a Toy Soldier playing his drums to different music. Songs included where "Robinson", "Cartoon Heroes", "GO!!!", "Sobakasu", a theme song from Gundam SEED and many others but not much.

It's relatively simple for a guy like me to play this but since I wasn't familiar with other songs, it made me look like an idiot. Other than that, it's a pretty cool music game for those new in the music game genre and really great for kids!

And here's Shakatto Tambourine from SEGA: http://www.channelbeat.com/products/...neous/281.html

Plays like Samba de Amigo (six sensors depending the position of the tambourine this time) but using a tamborine. It's either you "slap/clap" the tambourine (there's a yellow button on the tambourine for the "slap/clap" move) or shake the tambourine. There's even a "freestyle" like essence to it because there is a part where you have to position the tambourine from Point A to Point B while shaking it!

I loved this game and it made by hands and arms ache. It also gave me nasty callouses on my hands and fingers as well! I failed one song but I got an appluase! Maybe because when I play this game, I shake my boo-tay along with the beat. One song I can remember there is "GAMBLE RUMBLE" from Initial D.

Well, that's what I can share. Maybe I'll bring a video camera and upload them in youtube... What do you say?

EDIT: Videos are now available! Scroll down this page to access the links at YouTube!

First off, awesome; you live where I was born. :O

second, these machines..weird. The toy machine looks a bit TOO simple, but I could be wrong. and the other, looks and sounds pretty fun, actually. If you could put up some videos of gameplay or something, that'd be awesome. ^^;

That tambourine game sounds awesome! Although it seems like Bop-it, I would pick it up in an instant. Although learning another music game is a strain on the wallet. T_T

Actually, Toy's March is quite similar to Taiko no Tatsujin in terms of gameplay.

And Shakatto Tambourine? Think Samba de Amigo, only with a tambourine controller instead of maracas.

And yes, MannyPacquiao, er, MannySantiago, you should capture these games on a videocam and upload it on YT!

Wow, the Tambourine game sounds pretty fresh!

Is this game new or has it been out for some time?

Rats! I uploaded the videos already on YouTube but it's taking quite a while for them to be ready for public viewing.

I'm really excited to show it to you guys.

Sorry for the late reply, but changbemani is right; it's been already out about six years ago.

Very nice videos. I like how they show the in-game screen as well as the player action. The tamborine game looks pretty interesting. You certainly looked like you had perhaps a bit too much fun playing that one.

Awesome videos indeed. Being a huge fan of Samba de Amigo, I find this tambourine game very interresting.

Oh yes. I really had too much fun with it. I couldn't just stand there without bouncing to the beat. However, that's the not the hardest part. I tried playing the song on a higher difficulty level and I... failed...

I don't know much about it, but I'm pretty sure Toys March is directed at small children, hence the simplicity. Also, the second one has Xepher.

The tambourine game is actually the sequel to Samba De Amigo or something like that, but they decided to change it. Theres a home version for the original Playstation if you can find a copy. Its pretty expensive.

Edit: Look what i found on ebay.
