Sure, the game and the company that made it are pretty dead in the water(even F2 doesn't seem to want to admit it exists anymore), but the game's still lots of fun if you can find one.

And Koyote's Party Party is arguably the best freestyle song in the entire world.
Shoot, freestyle was probably the best thing TM had to offer.

There's even a little Offspring included for the techers(either it or Trash Man was probably the toughest song in the game, especially on eight-arrow mode).

I wonder if F2 ever actually had Konami's permission to put the DDR name on that cabinet, much less using the four-arrow play in it.

It makes RoXoR's 'offense' look pretty tame in comparison.

They did, I'm sure about that. In the last Technomotion machine I played, I could see a legal advertisement near the TM logo.

And... ugh... Technomotion. It surely had funny mods, and I personally loved that one where your arrows were rotating all the time, and some great songs... it's too bad that:

-The steps of lots of those songs sucked, HARD, in any of the modes (DDR, PIU and the weird 8 panels one).

-The timming was pretty innacurate. Getting one great was a miracle. No, it's not because the timming was hard on purpose, it is because the game itself was shitty in that aspect.

-The dance floor was... horrible. The measurements for the panels in DDR and PIU are perfect the way they are, Technomotion's panels are some kind of transvestation.

I'm not surprised why this thing was a commercial failure.

Well, the surround system was cool.

And not ALL the steps sucked, they just weren't even remotely hard.

The new songs had pretty good steps, like C.O.C. and Party Party(ESPECIALLY).

N.R.G.'s Shadow, that Eun Ji Won song in it, Yu Chae Young's (Emotion?)... like it or hate it, the music was awesome.

I think this is the main problem, how can you play when you dont like the dancefloor?
and....i never found a single technomotion with good sound , all of them had the bar speaker broken or off or whatever, and sometimes the other speakers were screwed too
A shame, tm had good songs. I wanna play heartlesness, C.O.C. and party party again [among others]

There are two Technomotion machine locations I know of, IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!

Q-Zar Westbury, NY

The second one is kinda odd. And it has two machines

Royal Carribean Voyager of the Seas

i played Loner and Pierrot when I was on vacation with the Royal Carribean ship.

But I think the whole purpose was that when PIU came out, the whole PIU is better than DDR spiel and vice versa arose, so F2 decided to fuse the two games together to get them to be friends. Boy howdy did they think wrong on that one.

As for cj's statement about how F2 got Konami's permission to use DDR, and if they didn't why they didn't get sued and Roxor did.

I think it's because I'm not a freestyler and more of a speed player and that's why I find Technomotion pure crap.

I know there was one at Rolling Oaks Mall in San Antonio last time I was out that way. May have been more than a year ago, though.

Yep, the cabinet banner explictly reads
"PUMP IT UP / DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION" on it.

Koyote Party Party is indeed the best freestyling song ever. And it so happens that in my residence of Las Vegas, at the Excalibur Hotel's Fantasy Faire, there IS a TechnoMotion machine. I like to play it when the friggity coin slot is working. Favorite songs besides KPP are NRG's Shadow, That one song... I think it's called NEXT, Staring at the Sun, and Flower *playable on doubles*.

What did the game look like?

I mean did it look like old DDR games, new DDR games, Pump it up, or In the groove?

What was the graphic style?

The arcade I go to, has one. They don't have it on the floor anymore though. Its actually a good game, just its so old It can't really be fair to compare it to anything new. At the time it was really cool, the graphics still blow away DDR's for pure quality.

Never was able to get simfiles made though.

It looks more like a PIU GX than anything, I guess. But the cabinet design is overall very unique.

The bars have speakers built INTO them for a surround effect that is really cool, but I hear it's a nightmare for arcade people to maintain.

As for the graphics, F2 did them. Watch the PIU backgrounds for : Loner, Final Audition Episode I, Starian, etc.

That's pretty much what all the Technomotion BGs are like. (This isn't a bad thing, by the way.)
