Awareness Ribbons

I get my tokens out.
Now, I go to buy an awareness ribbon. It says I don't have enough tokens to buy one, when I do have the right amount of tokens.
Next thing I know it, I have x2 the amount of tokens in my bank and I have 70.23 tokens on my stats! (The red box on the top right corner)
Why is this?

It requires 200 tokens to purchase. Currently you only have 88.23 out of the bank. You have to take out another 111.77 tokens before you can buy it.

I took 200 tokens out and tried to purchase, not just use my current tokens.

They don't do anything, other than one on the back of your car would. They just show your support for things, and it's an excuse to spend tokens.
