Default Glow not working on Mac... AT ALL.

So I tried changing my glow color.
I tried it on my Mac. It didn't work. The transaction The transaction wouldn't even go through.
I tried it on my friends Windows laptop and it worked fine.
However, I get home, I still have all my tokens and the glow is not there.
WTF IS GOING ON WITH THE GLOW.
Seriously, I have no clue why it can't just stay on my name whether I'm on a Mac or not. Please, fix, please.

In fact, NOTHING works on my Mac. WTF?

It can't be fixed as it is not a bug. Blame it on Internet Explorer. The only browser the glow will work in is Internet Explorer.

To be more specific, the reason it's not working is because the code that handles the glow is not compliant. Internet Explorer accepts really poor code and non-compliant code which not all browsers support. Right now I'm using Firefox and I don't see the glow because FF sticks to the standards.

As for nothing working on your Mac, I can't really help you there since I don't have a Mac to test with. Try using another browser.

The transaction will not even go through. So will Mac + Firefox not even handle the code to purchase it?
But I purchased my ribbons. So WTF?

I'm not sure how it works on the Mac, but I'm running Firefox (2.0.0.1) on Windows and it works for me. But like I said before, the glow won't work in most browsers so it's not worth it.

Your glow purchase definetely went through... I can see it fine on my computer when I use Internet Explorer (I use FF by default).

Glow is definetely not worth it, though... only people using the Windows version of Internet Explorer will be able to see it.

Welcome to my world Paradox. Of course, I knew my glow wouldn't work in FF. I didn't care, and I use FF. You'll just have to deal with it. Just go and buy the colored username, you have the tokens. Sheesh. Not as cool, but whatever...

Yes, I can see your glow when I'm in IE. It's very red, just like mine is very green.

I have a question though: Is this problem ever going to be fixed? It would be cool if it was.

If by problem you're referring the form not working, I can't offer a solution for that. I don't have a Mac or have access to a Mac so I can't work on that.

If by problem you're referring to the glow working only in Internet Explorer, that's not a problem and it can't be fixed. The "problem" is that Internet Explorer accepts invalid code and has its own IE-only things (like the glow). Firefox will never support the glow as it's not valid HTML. Most of the browsers I can think of (Firefox, Opera, Safari/Konqueror) go by the official specs as defined by the World Wide Web Consortium. There will be some browser-specific things among the browsers (for example, in Firefox there is -moz-border-radius (CSS)), but they support most of the things listed on the W3 website. Internet Explorer does not follow these standards and therefore is a nightmare for web developers.

I hope this clears up things a bit. If you're interested more on the subject, you can google around and easily find some more information about the differences between the way IE and other browsers render pages.

You know, as long as I have it, as long as others see it, I'm fine.
