Name-change to katakana

I first signed up with this username a long time ago because I used it a lot at the time, and I only really used my bemanistyle account to download simfiles. When the new version came out and I had to re-sign up, I didn't put any thought into using this name again. However, now I'm actually starting to use the forums, and I wanted to change my name. I've been going by my name in katakana, アンジェリーク, online for awhile now, and I wanted to change it to that -- I've seen others on here with katakana names, so I assumed it was possible. However, when I go to change it, it says the name is too long. Help?

Not just katakana, but hiragana and kanji as well.

I also wanted to change my name to [SABAKI in Japanese characters]CaptivAtor once, but I got the same thing.

Not just usernames have that notice, as well as having to change user titles get the same error. Can this be fixed, please?

Looks like only alphanumerical characters are allowed. I wonder why we couldn't change username to Japanese/ Chinese/ Korean/ Russian at this time.

Sounds to me like a technical limitation on any character stripping that might be within the code that checks your requested name change. This code prevents people from putting <size=7>MY NAME IS RALPH</size> as their username, and resulting in MY NAME IS RALPH on the forums.

Wait until Bowlmanifest is over, and I bet Keith will take a look into it.
