Default My simfile successfully confused the step displayer.

Take a look at the oni steps. I never put in a staggered 12th run (the blue-pink-pink thing) and it has breaks where I know I didn't have empty space. And it's not displaying 32nds or 64ths as the right colour.

BTW, I uploaded the dwi. If I upload the .sm file it neglects to display the oni steps.

I have the same problem. I never put in hands (3 or more steps at the same time) but the stepfile parser is successfully raping itself over my simfile.

Apart from putting in hands where my freeze arrows are a certain way, it's also a complete eigth beat offsync for a large portion of the chart.

We will take a look at the parser. There's quite a few other things we need to get done first so don't expect it immediately.

http://www.bemanistyle.com/parser/ge...g=1&note=type2

It seems to have trouble parsing 12ths and 24ths. It turned large sections of my arrows yellow for no reason. Not a big deal, but hey.

Here's another example of bad 24ths: http://www.bemanistyle.com/parser/ge...g=1&note=type2 It also has some 48ths in it.

Some 64ths here: http://www.bemanistyle.com/parser/ge...g=1&note=type2 64ths aren't as bad as 12ths/24ths/48ths, as they just display as doubled 32nds, but look how it makes the ending orange.

ok I checked this out. Seems like other than the ".sm doesn't show challenge steps" thing, all of the other issues can be explained by the same issue. Basically all the charts have something like the following:

9!802060<A4!4>06020

According to the dwi spec here, the <A4!4> part should be <A4>!4.

It's strange that so many dwi's have the same problem though. Are people using a GUI that creates its own DWI's? This could be an issue like that old bug in Stepmania where it would put out broken freezes like 8!0.

EDIT: according to this logic, something like <A!AB!B> should be <AB>!<AB> but right now neither one works, so I still have at least some work to do in this area.

As far as .sm not showing challenge steps, that's specific to this site so I bet someone else is working on it.

I don't know... I'm using StepMania 4.0 CVS beta to create my DWI's.

You'll have to take it up with the StepMania Team about the DWI standard, but as far as I know my simfile works fine in SM...

Issue has been resolved, closing.

Or not.. I think this was because I combined two issues into one later.

This really hasn't been resolved yet.

Once it is fixed we will close it.
