this, I could understand if everyone in the theatre had been injured/lost someone in the incident, but it's been nearly 10 years and still some people that weren't affected by 9/11 in any way are pissed off because of some dark humour about it.

My friend's parents died. He doesn't get pissed off about this stuff... He laughed rather hard after watching that intro. Go figure haha.

Seriously, if after... what, 7 years? of losing someone you lack the mental fortitude to come to terms with it and laugh about things which are humorous, it's less indicative of the movie being offensive and moreso of you suffering ongoing psychological trauma. Seek therapy.
