Action or Thriller: Men in Black, Punisher, Traffic, Swordfish, Fight Club, Stark Raving Mad, just to name a few.
Comedy: Harold and Kumar, American Pie, White Chicks, The 40 Year Old Virgin, just to name a few.
I think all of these movies have soundtracks that do them justice. There are probably quite a few others, but this is all Ive got right now. | |

Jesus Christ Superstar. Strangely enough, I'm probably one of the few that prefer the movie soundtrack to the musical soundtrack.
I remember Dances With Wolves had a nice musical score.
If you like Danny Elfman's work (The Simpson's), I suppose Batman could be on the list.
Oh, and anything Disney that was composed by Alan Menken (Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, etc.). He was a genius for bringing the broadway style into Disney animated classics.
Most recently, I love Rent. That movie and soundtrack is nearly flawless, although they did have to cut a few scenes. | |
