I don't see subtitled versions showing up anytime soon. I doubt there's much of a market for them outside of the "hardcore" anime fans, and they'd be hell to read on those little 2.5-inch iPod screens anyway.

A friend of mine was watching some anime with subtitles on a 40GB and neither of us had any problem reading the subtitles.
Quote for fucking emphasis. I've been working my way through Eureka 7 during my lunch breaks at work and I get by just fine. Thanks iPod for making my lunch breaks that much more enjoyable!
iTunes is also picking up a few Japanese artists, like Ayumi. Still not the selection I was hoping for, but they still have a lot of artists that are popular from anime.
