Any good female singers/vocalists to recommend?

I think Cindy and Kate from the B-52's have pretty good vocals. I don't know if you're into their kind of music, though (i.e. not just Love Shack, Rock Lobster, and Roam).

I agree. I have their Cosmic Thing LP (on record) and their greatest hits (on CD). I absolutely love Cosmic Thing.

Madonna is good too, if you are into that style. Personally, I love her 80s songs, rather than her newer ones.

Bjork, Fox N' Wolf and The Kills have been the only female-vocals groups that have ever stuck my chords. At least, that I can remember right now.

I'm sure there were others but I adore girls singing about waking up in a naked, hung over mess in there own vomit. Made for a great party song.

OH: And The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Heart, Ladytron, April March, Technotronic, Lil' Mama.
Also a lot of Jazz acts like Astrud Gilberto and Koop score some great female vocalists. Especially in Koop Island Blues.
But you could always go with Ella Fitzgerald.
