Default Blade Runner: The Final Cut

So it's currently playing in LA and NYC, I was curious if anyone else saw it or was planning on seeing it during the course of it's run. It's definitely worthwhile if you are a fan of the movie, I'm probably going to be seeing it again later in the week. I think it's supposed to be opening in a couple more cities as well though I'm not sure about it

I had no idea they were still working on that. Also, just so you know, don't try to rent the original film on Netflix. I tried to twice before and ended up with the director's cut both times.

Yeah the original version of the film isn't available on DVD. You'll have to wait until December 18th when they release the Ultimate Collection which will come with all versions of the movie, including the Final Cut that's playing right now

What's different about the Final Cut that isn't in the Director's Cut? I just watched the Director's Cut like a week ago and I guess I wouldn't mind making a date out of going to see it again.

All the scenes with the violence were brought back (Roy crushing Tyrell's skull/gouging his eyes, and the nail going through Roy's hand), the unicorn dream sequence was fully restored, some of the dialogue was fixed/changed/extended slightly , the scene where Deckard shoots Zhora and she flies through the windows was reshot so the stuntperson isn't so obvious. Those are the most notable things that I picked out, most of the street scenes had some extended footage as well. It's not really a huge enormous difference, more like a 1.2 patch

It's still worth it if only for seeing it on the big screen

I went to go see it last night, and even though I didn't feel that it was all that different from the Director's Cut, it was still definitely worth the money to see it on the big screen. The guy sitting next to me and my friend had a Tyrell Corporation hat too, :3

Was it insanely crowded? I could barely find a seat when I went.

The theater wasn't even half full. It's been awhile since it came out though...could just be that most people who wanted to see it went already.

Apparently there was new material put in there to suggest that Deckard is a Replicant. I didn't get that impression watching the movie, but after I read about it it started to make a lot more sense.

Well there's always been evidence supporting both the idea that Deckard is human and that he's a replicant. It's purposely meant to be ambiguous, but I've always felt that he was a replicant because of the unicorn dream, the glowing eyes, his obsession with old photographs, the fact that he's able to take so much abuse from the replicants, the way he climbs up a building with 2 dislocated fingers, and basically the idea that they would send one man to go after these 4 dangerous replicants, rather then a group of people.

I've always thought that Gaff was the real Blade Runner, and Deckard was just a replicant that did the dirty work for him. Like Rachael was, Deckard just isn't aware of the fact that he's a replicant. He's always following him around closely and that line "You've done a man's job" is the smoking gun for me.
