C U LaTour So I doubt very many of you people care, given the (lack of) response to the Judas Priest tour I mentioned a while ago, but, as I'm still on the adrenaline high, I figured I'd post this anyways.
Just got back from Ministry's last US show, and despite the general lack of classic old tracks, it was PRETTY DAMN AMAZING.
The set list pretty much stuck to material from Houses of the Mole and Last Sucker with a few Rio Grande Blood tracks thrown in, but at the end of the set they did a few of their covers from The Cover-Up, along with N.W.O., Thieves, and Just One Fix. Downside: No Jesus Built My Hotrod. For that, I was sad. But considering how awesome Last Sucker is, it was pretty much okay.
Meshuggah was the opener... and while they focused on material from Nothing (which I generally don't care for), the sound was awesome enough that it was not a bad show. Plus, I got one of Thomas Haake's drum sticks and a signed copy of I, so, you know, GOOD SHOW.
"The party's over, brothers and sisters! It's the end of mankind as we know it! Hell and fire! HELL AND FIRE! 'Cause the tide's a rising and the sea is coming in! A storm's a brewin'! A STORM'S A BREWIN'!"
Oh yeah, and Tommy Victor wore a dress for the duration of the show. It was pretty amusing. |
