Marketplace Rating: 5 | My favorite band of all time is Motion City Soundtrack. Seriously, not only do they rip in the studio, they're the best live band you'll ever see (the singer sounds just as good live).
Top ten (excluding MCS for raping too hard to be fair):
01) The Pink Spiders (fuck KROQ for finding out about them)
02) Taking Back Sunday (long-time favorite)
03) Arctic Monkeys (insanely awesome band)
04) The Living End (Australia's finest )
05) Fall Out Boy (raping vocals; MTV butchered FOB)
06) The Academy Is... (orgasmic)
07) The Lashes (somewhat underground, but could go mainstream)
08) The Strokes (a band I've loved longer than any other band)
09) OK Go (before MTV discovered their music video to Here It Goes Again)
10) Fountains Of Wayne ( Hey Julie is still the greatest song to ever be recorded) | |

Anyway, uhh, my last.fm page has a lot of the artists I listen to, but of course nowhere near all of them.
Hate picking a "favorite band," but I devised a hypothetical questyion to make me choose: If you are walking down the street at night and you are dragged into the alley by some thug who holds a knife to your throat and says he'll cut you if you don't tell him what your favorite band is (and fast), what do you say? For me, I'd just blurt out Nirvana. The "With the Lights Out" box set has given me more enjoyment and listening time than much of my other music combined.
Also as of 24~ hours ago I finally started listening to Throbbing Gristle, and I am quite literally and seriously ashamed of myself for not checking them out sooner. Convincing People, We Hate You (Little Girls), and especially Persuasion... This shit is haunting and amazing.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Hm well I guess I'll just pick 5, and I'd have to say....
Muse
Primus
The Mars Volta
Queen
Minus the Bear
My musical tastes go WAYYYY farther than that though, but I'd say those are the top 5.
